An Introduction to Coaching and Mentoring Coaching and Mentoring Skills for Primary Health Care Professionals

A Blended Larning Programme

Akeso is committed to offering, developing and supporting coaching and mentoring for primary healthcare professionals. We have offered an ‘Introduction to Coaching’ programme for many years - now an online programme over six weeks, developed with our partners, The Madison Group, and their accredited programmes and trainers.

The majority of the training hubs in the East of England commission Akeso to provide training for those who wish to become coaches and mentors; primarily GPs, GP trainees, Practice Nurses and Practice Managers.

Please email office@akeso.org.uk to check whether the training hub in your area has commissioned this course and for information on course dates. You will have the opportunity of joining the Akeso Network upon completion of this course.

Designed as an introduction to further accredited coaching training, the programme is endorsed by ILM (part of City and Guilds). It covers:

  • The coaching conversation as a type of professional conversation
    • What do we mean by “coaching and mentoring”?
    • The basic principles of coaching and mentoring
